- Josep Maria Bartomeu has resigned as the President of FC Barcelona
- Bartomeu announced his resignation along other board members on Tuesday, October 27
There have been a lot of question marks over Josep Maria Bartomeu’s tenure especially in the last months of his leadership at the Catalan club as well as his role in the messy transfer situation of Lionel Messi.
It should be recalled that Messi had wanted to move to another club after falling out with Bartomeu a few months ago.
As Bartomeu bows out yesterday, some football fans and analysts believe it could ginger Messi to playing his best football.
There are also some thoughts that Messi could now stay more years at Camp Nou due to the resignation of Bartomeu.
Club manager, Ronald Koeman has not made any categorical statement on the resignation of the former president and how he looks forward working with the new president and board members.
Will Messi come out stronger and play better for Koeman as Bartomeu is no more the president of Barcelona?
