After Hat Trick & Brace Against Liverpool & Arsenal: Is Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins EPL Top Teams’ Nightmare?

  • Aston Villa have played well against the big teams they have met this season as in-form striker Ollie Watkins has continued to warm himself into the hearts of many football fans
  • Ollie Watkins has scored five goals against Liverpool (3) and Arsenal (2) respectively and the other top teams in the English Premier League should be worried before they play Aston Villa

The Aston Villa forward was initially criticised for his high price tag when he was bought by manager, Dean Smith, however he is paying back the club for the money invested in him.

Although, it is too early to give a 100% pass mark on the instinctive goal poaching capabilities of Watkins, the Aston Villa striker has proven that he is a big game player.

It was no fluke for Watkins when he had three goals to his name in the Aston Villa pummeling of Liverpool 7-2 a few weeks ago as he followed it up yesterday with two sumptuous goals against Arsenal as the Gooners fell by three goals to nothing.

Going forward, should the top teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur begin to fear Watkins? This is because Watkins already has five goals against two out of the Top 6 club sides in the Premier League this season.

The English media has not paid much focus on Watkins the way they give attention to the likes of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Some football pundits believe that the Aston Villa forward is being underrated.
