It should be recalled that the late Ghanaian president was a military man before he assumed office.
Rawlings was noted to have executed many strongmen in order to preside over the affairs of Ghana and bring about positive economic changes.
The late Ghanaian president was a Flight Lieutenant. He died at the age of 73.
In a Tweet a few moments ago by one time president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama on his official Twitter handle (@JDMahama), he stated:
“I have announced the suspension of my tour of the Ashanti Region and all NDC campaigns across the country following news of the passing of our founder and former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
