What Pele Said About Messi After Equaling His Single Club Goal Record

  • Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has equaled the goal record of Brazilian football legend, Pele for a single club
  • The Argentine netted a goal last night in a Spanish La Liga game against Valencia which ended in a 2-2 draw

Although, Messi came third in the 2020 men’s FIFA best player award, the Barca star man did not let that to affect his goal scoring instinct.

Pele who won the FIFA World Cup with Brazil in 1958, 1962 and 1970 had good words for Messi for equaling his goal record for a single club.

“When your heart overflows with love, it’s hard to change your path. Like you, I know what it’s like to love wearing the same shirt every day. Like you, I know there’s nothing better than where we feel at home” Pele wrote on Instagram.

Pele scored a total of 643 goals for Santos, and Messi has achieved the same feat with Barcelona.
