NCDC Reports Over 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

Daily COVID Cases

  • The number of new daily cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria for Thursday, December 24 were a total of 1,041 in Lagos and some other states
  • Lagos, the epicentre of coronavirus disease in Nigeria accounted for over 30% of the new cases of COVID-19 in the country

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) came second in numbers of new cases which stood at 210.

More than 20 states had new cases of coronavirus disease reported, with both Sokoto and Bayelsa having the least daily cases reported which was one for each state.

According to the states with the highest daily figures, the breakdown of the 1041 new #COVID19 cases are given below:

  • Katsina-47
  • Nasarawa-35
  • Kano-33
  • Ogun-21
  • Rivers-17
  • Niger-14
  • Imo-14
  • Delta-12
  • Kwara-12
  • Edo-12
  • Benue-9
  • Anambra-8
  • Taraba-4
  • Ekiti-4
  • Ebonyi-6
  • Bayelsa-1
  • Sokoto-1

As of now, 81963 total confirmed cases; 69651 persons discharged and 1242 deaths recorded in Nigeria.
