Allegations Of Underage Voting Raised During Kano LGA Polls

  • On Saturday, January 16, local government elections were held in the 44 LGAs in Kano state
  • The LGA polls were not the main talking point, but allegations of underage voting with some photos flying everywhere on social media

Some Nigerians took to different social media platforms to vent their anger over reports of under-18 year old voters participating in the Kano LGA elections.

There are high likelihood that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will sweep almost all the 44 local governments at the poll.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has not made any statement regarding the allegations of underage voters during yesterday’s poll.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the major opposition party in the Northwest state, known as ‘Centre of Commerce’ in Nigeria.
