- Sunday, February 21 was a sad one for Nigeria as a military aircraft crashed in Abuja leaving all passengers on board dead
- Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika earlier gave a brief details of what happened before actual deaths of all persons all board were confirmed
Hadi Sirika informed that “a military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any.”
A former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has spoken about the unfortunate incident.
On his Twitter handle, @atiku, the former Nigeria number two citizen stated as follows:
I have just learnt of the crash of a military aircraft near Abuja. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those onboard the ill-fated flight.
While investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause(s) of the crash, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the affected families and the Nigerian military, particularly the Nigerian Air force.
