- All is presently not okay between two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors from Bauchi and Benue states
- Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state are both governors under the platform of PDP, but are currently involved in war of wars
The Bauchi state governor reportedly threatened his Benue state counterpart, which has led to forth and back responses.
“Benue state is governed by the constitution & its laws. Any Fulani man is welcome to stay & do a legitimate business. If not,you are free to go & meet Bala Mohammed in Bauchi. There you can carry Ak 47,” Governor Ortom said in a news video posted by Channels TV.
Additionally, The Benue state governor said Governor Bala Mohammed should be held responsible if anything bad happens to him.
The Statement issued on the official Twitter handle of the PDP is given below as the PDP calls for calm between both governors:
@OfficialPDPNig assures that it has waded into the rift between Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed and his Benue State counterpart, Governor Samuel Ortom.
The @OfficialPDPNig calls for calm as the internal reconciliation mechanism introduced by the hierarchy of the party between the two governors subsists.
The @OfficialPDPNig however urges the Federal Government to take urgent steps to address the escalated security challenges in our country.
