Unai Emery Guides Villarreal To 2-1 Win Over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal In Europa League Semi Final

  • It was a battle between former and current Arsenal bosses, as the Spanish La Liga team won the English Premier League side

Villarreal coach, Emery was in charge of Arsenal a few years ago and was sacked by the management for poor results. Emery took Arsenal to the final of the Europa League in 2019, where he lost to Chelsea.

Arsenal were fortunate not to have conceded more than two goals last night as Villarreal tormented them.

The second leg comes up next week in England. Arsenal need to win at least 1-0 or with a difference of two goals in order to qualify for the final.

It will be an all English Europa League final if Arsenal qualify ahead of Villarreal next week and Manchester United also qualify ahead of Roma.
