#RamadanDailyDigest: Where Allaah Mentioned Prophet Muhammad In The Glorious Qur’an

  • Almighty Allaah chose Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon his noble soul) as His Messenger of good tidings and sent him to the whole world or call it universe of mankind, jinns, living and non living things
  • Prophet Muhammad, being a bringer of glad tidings to the believing Muslims was also a warner to the people who disbelieved in Allaah

In order to refresh our memory a little about Prophet Muhammad’s background, his father was named Abdullahi, while his mother was named Amina. The Messenger of Allaah was born in the city of Makkah in 570AD and died in 620AD.

Allaah made Prophet Muhammad His Messenger at the age of 40 years. The Prophet of Islaam preached and called people to Islaam for 23 years before his death.

One of the chapters of the Glorious Qur’an is named ‘Suuratu Muhammad’ after the name of Prophet Muhammad. Suuratu Muhammad is chapter 47 of the Glorious Qur’an. It has 38 Aayaat (verses), and was revealed in the city of Madeenah.

Suuratu Muhammad has an Ayah (verse) where Allaah mentioned the name ‘Muhammad.’ In the second verse, Allaah mentioned His Messenger’s name ‘Muhammad.’

The other portions were Allaah mentioned ‘Muhammad’ are in Suuratu Al Imraan, Ayah 144 (chapter 3 verse 144) and Suuratul Ahzaab, Ayah 40 (chapter 33 verse 40) of the Glorious Qur’an.

In addition to the three different verses Allaah mentioned Prophet Muhammad’s name above, in Suuratu Saff, Ayah 6 (chapter 61 verse 6), Prophet Muhammad’s name was mentioned as ‘Ahmad.’ Ahmad is one of the names of Prophet Muhammad.

Every Muslim should be familiar with some basic knowledge about Prophet Muhammad vis-a-vis what Allaah said about him in the Glorious Qur’an.
